Rock the Night was conceived as a way to augment the Light the Night walk, raise additional funding for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society to battle blood cancers, and to honor the survivors and those that lost their battle to these cancers.
We have also hosted featured survivors at the event. In 2006, 11 year old Jake Gadomski, brought the house down with an inspiring account of his journey as an acute lymphocytic leukemia survivor. In 2007 Bob Levis, a coworker at Air Products, was our featured speaker. Claire Reitz was our featured survivor for 2008. She told us what life was like, growing up with blood cancer, Her brother Conner also spoke about having a sibling with this disease.
In Spring of 2010, Angie Keller, a young mother told us of her battle against leukemia, and her concerns for her 18 month old son, growing up and perhaps not knowing her. Sadly we lost Angie in August when her illness returned.
In the 6 years of the event, we have raised over $230,000! Come help us make this year's event an even great success.
The event is designed to honor these people, raise funding, and most of all to HAVE FUN!
